TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2/USB 3.1 motherboard first to be certified for SuperSpeed USB 10Gbit/s (USB 3.1 Gen 2)

Fremont, California (12th August, 2015) ASUS today announced that the TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2/USB 3.1 is the world’s first motherboard to achieve SuperSpeed USB 10Gbit/s certification for USB 3.1 Gen 2 datatransfer speeds of up to 10Gbit/s — twice as fast as USB 3.0. This achievement highlights the company’s position as a global trailblazer committed to delivering the best technology to consumers before anyone else.

To achieve USBIF certification, the TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2/USB 3.1 had to pass exacting tests set by the USB Implementers Forum (USBIF), including signalquality checks, stress tests and sustained transmission speed. As the world’s first certified SuperSpeed USB 10Gbit/s (USB 3.1 Gen 2) motherboard, the TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2/USB 3.1 successfully demonstrated wide compatibility with existing USB devices including printers, USB drives, video cameras, mice, headsets and many others — providing proven interoperability for consumers.

“USBIF certification is a proven testing and evaluation process that is absolutely necessary for product interoperability and reliability,” said Jeff Ravencraft, USBIF President and COO. “As the next generation of USB technology hits the market, we strongly encourage consumers to look for USBIFcertified products, such as the ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2/USB 3.1 motherboard, to ensure the best possible user experience.”

Backed by a 5 year warranty, ASUS TUF motherboards are built with militarygrade components to deliver incredible durability. ASUS TUF features include Thermal Radar 2 for intuitive fan tuning, the TUF ICe microchip to intelligently monitor and control system temperatures, ESD Guards for greater tolerance to static electricity, and a new 8+2phase TUF Engine power design. ASUS also provide the most comprehensive memory and device validation lists (QVLs) in the industry – for assured compatibility with thousands of devices.

Other ASUS TUF motherboards will also be submitted to USBIF for certification, allying the newest and best device compatibility to TUF’s worldrenowned reputation for strength and build quality.
